Dr. Pratik Shah
Dr. Pratik Shah is a medical technology expert in artificial intelligence and biological research.
We are hiring for multiple roles!
The computational medicine research group @UCI directed by Dr. Pratik Shah invites applications for:
- Postdoctoral Scholar position-1 for outstanding Ph.D applicants with strong academic computer science and informatics research backgrounds. Applicants interested in developing novel AI-based medical imaging technology for digital biopsies are welcome to apply: https://recruit.ap.uci.edu/JPF08091
- Postdoctoral Scholar position-2 for outstanding Ph.D applicants with strong academic computer science, biomedical informatics or statistics backgrounds. Applicants interested in developing uncertainty estimations for training deployable AI models that establish causal relationships in clinical data are welcome to apply: https://recruit.ap.uci.edu/JPF08092
- PhD students are welcome to write to Dr. Shah directly for thesis research on; a) interpreting generative deep neural networks for interrogating proximity relationships between medical image features and clinical pathways to discover biologically relevant disease sub-types; b) formulating novel unsupervised, on, and off-policy AI learning methods for clinical data.
- External students interested in graduate studies can select Dr. Shah as the faculty PI and apply to any of the following PhD programs in Computational Science, graduate program in Mathematical, Computational, and Systems Biology (MCSB), Cellular & Molecular Biosciences (CMB) gateway PhD program, and the graduate program in Experimental Pathology.
- Physician scientist (MD-PhD) students and applicants to the Medical Scientist Training Program interested in clinical informatics + molecular research are welcome to write to Dr. Shah directly to determine appropriate PhD component projects.
- Undergraduate students interested in quarterly deep learning research methods or an UROP project are welcome to contact Dr. Shah directly.
- Interns and visiting scientists, please propose a topic and research plan that is relevant to the group.
- Attending physicians (MDs), residents and fellows are welcome to collaborate with us as we create new clinical models driven by artificial intelligence to analyze data from hundreds of thousands of de-identified medical images and ICU records from hospitals nationwide. Physicians can write to Dr. Shah to collaborate as authors on research publications and learn machine-learning and informatics skills.
